Self-Care When the World is Falling Apart

When we are most stressed, we tend to focus on what is going on and how we can help those around us. I know, as a mom, I am all about making sure that my family is well cared for when the proverbial "stuff" hits the fan. I tend to forget about my own needs, but I say it all the time, you can't pour from an empty cup.

When we get stressed, it is so important to make sure that we are still prioritizing some manner of self-care. It could be something as simple as making sure that we brush our teeth each day or setting a gentle reminder on our phone to drink some fluids.

Other important considerations could be getting a little bit of fresh air and exercise. Just a short walk can do a world of good for your mood and general well-being. Take a shower. Maybe have a cry or work on creating a fresh perspective. Some of the best therapy can be found alone in a shower stall. 

Lastly, seek help. If you are stressed and struggling, reach out to a friend, a family member, or even a professional. There is no need to feel alone because we are never truly alone.
