My Sidekick is now my GymBuddy too!!!

I've been training for a month by myself.

But, now it is summer and that means that My Sidekick is spending time with me again on Mondays and Tuesdays. She asked me if I would please train her for an August 5K. At first, I said no. The idea of running for me...ugh...but, if you have a 13-year-old girl ask you if you would please spend that kind of one-on-one time with her, of course you say yes. So, I changed my mind and decided that we would train together. She is going with me to the gym, and we are doing added cardio to build up her leg strength and endurance. We spent almost four hours in the gym between yesterday and today. Before you ask, no, I am not pushing her super hard. She is doing all the exercises that I do, but we are taking time to work on her proper form and finding a good weight for her for each movement that challenges her but allows her to maintain proper control and movement. Between that and sharing the equipment, it takes longer with the two of us working together. So far, it has been a good two days. We have eaten well, we have trained well, and we are enjoying our time together. So far, so good. PS...she told me that she hates the gym. She also told me she loves the gym and that it is fun. So, take that for what it is. We are switching up the routine on Monday for the next month. I am excited to see where this summer takes us!
